June 2008 - "But they
were cheap" : We're not often asked by our Customers to inspect and report
on other
suppliers work but this M33 x 3.5 pitch thread, produced by
an ISO Approved Indian Company needed serious investigation. Needless to say
the threads failed our inspection on all of the 120 St St Suspension Shafts that were intended
for a construction site in Finsbury Circus. A prime example
of a cheap price costing a fortune. |

May 2008 - A "Safe Option" ?
Being asked
to make "Safe Handles" does seem to rather drive
home a point.
We have a question:
If you had a long standing, good reputation that relied
on quality and precision would you want to know that your
supplier was not only capable of producing your work but also had the same exacting
standards as you?

April 2008 - "Tricky to Make?"
'Team' Redline, have long been recognised
for their skills and flexibility in producing "tricky to
make" components. This month was no exception when a Formula
One design and development company, asked us to produce new
suspension components from solid. Delivery was critical and
the parts were thought to be impossible to make..but..it all went well and hopefully
the car will be in the

conception to delivery. These rings will be used for the new
3 D security scanners that will ultimately be installed in
airports around the world. |

Jan 2008 - The Qatar Masters Golf PGA Tour
had the benefit of Redline's engineering expertise when we
produced a rugged portable sound unit box for the
competition held at the end of January. Ten units were used
on the rain drenched Doha Golf Club course, 4 for
commentary, whilst the other six where used by walkers who
followed the action around the course capturing the sound
from the tee-off greens up to the final putt-out by the
Australian Adam Scott. Adam stormed in with a 61, his lowest
tournament round to become the only dual winner of the
event. Our client was very
pleased with the units especially the waterproofing!

| Dec 2006: We nearly
there! Construction of the last remaining units is now at the
finishing stages. Our Unit, No 1, has reached the point where
the builders, Langs, are preparing the offices for painting
and fitting the loo's. The last major item outstanding for us
is the roller shutter door for the Goods In/Out. The
completion date is still early spring and Kent Machine Service
Ltd have been booked for the 1 mile journey to
move us from our Horley Factory to Salfords. The move,
which is planned over 3 days, is not a great distance but
is still "a giant step for Redline". Heard something
similar to that somewhere else! |
 |
| Sept 2006: The walls are on,
contracts exchanged and the move date is confirmed as End of
Feb 2007. |
 |
| Aug 2006: Steady progress continues on
the New CNC production Factory which is located in Salfords on the main A23 between
Redhill and Horley, Surrey. The new building, only 1 mile from the
present factory, is now is proudly displaying the roof and, as
an added surprise for all of us, the floor has gone in as
well. |
 |
|
July 2006: To enable a faster turn around of our
cut billets for our cnc turning machining centres we have upgraded our
sawing capacity to a new Anbus Hydraulic Saw which is
capable of cutting up to 10" dia with a minimum length of just
5mm. The saw will tackle all materials from Aluminium to St ST
and enable us to be totally self sufficient to provide
our own blanks instead of the traditional wait of 7 days or
more from our material suppliers. |
 |
|
26/06/06 Hot News: Construction of our New State
of the Art Surrey Factory has commenced with the Supporting Steel
Structure now being erected. The Construction Company
confirmed yesterday ".. the project is well on schedule with
all the foundations in place and the roof is set
to go on in a few weeks". We know it's not Wembley but at
least it's on time. |
 |
|
JUNE 2006: The latest addition to the cnc turning plant has just arrived
and is now in production. Described as World Class the Mazak Quickturn Nexus
was no
sooner bolted down when it started turning out production. The
cnc turning and milling machining centre is
fitted with a 51 mm dia magazine bar feed and is more than capable
of turning up to 280 mm diameter and will be left running
unmanned way into the night due to the sophisticated on board
software. |
 |
|
MAY 2006:We have upgraded yet again to the advanced version
of Licom Alphacam. New computers have been installed with the
latest turning and milling software which not only speeds up our
CNC programming but now allows us to accept virtually all types of
electronic files. April 2006: New CNC 4th Axis Rotary has been delivered and
after a few teething problems were ironed out, is now running.
The rotary 4th Axis which allow 360 degrees of CNC
milling
and has been fitted to our existing Bridgeport 600
machining centre.
Feb 2006 :
More Investment.
Redline are out to tender for the supply and installation of a
new CNC 4th Axis Indexing Rotary Table for the Bridgeport VMC
600 Digital machining centre. Invitations to tender have been sent out but
interested companies should contact
Steve Heise.
